August 2012

Children's Summer Reading
On July 20th, the Children's Summer Reading Program came to an end. Children, parents, and grandparents alike all gathered in the library to watch the Great Kaplan on that Friday morning. A good time was had by all.

Even though the Children’s Summer Reading Program is over, don’t forget to visit the library for books and more throughout the year. The children’s department is always adding new items to its collection in many formats (books, audio, video). Preschool Story Hour is held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 am, all year long. Outreach is available for schools, preschools and other groups. In addition, special events and Holiday story & craft hours are also planned. Stop in to learn more.

Also don't miss the Great Kaplan at the Mercer County Fair in the Kids Tent!!

The NEW Teen Summer Reading Program

If you are 13 to 18 years old, you can still participate in the library's first ever Teen Summer Reading Program. It's not too late to read or listen to three books (or more). Prizes are still being given away in the bi-weekly drawings and the grand prize drawing at the wrap-up reception on Friday, August 10 at 2:00 pm.
Adult Summer Reading Program

Don't forget about the Adult Summer Reading Program. Read or listen to 5 books and then fill out an entry form.  Once your entry slip is filled, turn it in for a prize (while supplies last). Bi-weekly prize drawings are still going on.  There will be a wrap-up reception and grand prize drawing, a Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight, on Friday, August 31 at 12:00 noon. Refreshments will be served at the reception!!
